IP voice paging for schools, campus, hospital, retail store, office ,carparks etc.
SIP Multicast – only one speaker needs to be called, it will in turn multicast the stream to the entire group of speakers.
Multicast wide area emergency, safety and security notification alerts (e.g., lockdown, evacuation, reverse evacuation, medical emergency, safety alert, etc.)
Scheduled or automated announcements. Using the Algo 8301 to multicast, announcements/tones can be played over any model of Algo IP speaker. For example, school (i.e., class changes, recess, playing an anthem, etc.), retail and healthcare announcements (i.e., store closing, visiting hours, etc.), and workplace shift changes, breaks, etc.
IP loud ringing to avoid missed calls in a high noise environment where telephone ringing is difficult to hear

The Algo 8188 SIP Ceiling Speaker delivers exceptional sound clarity with the Wideband G.722 HD voice codec. This ensures highly intelligible voice paging and crystal-clear emergency notifications. With a measured STI-PA intelligibility score of 0.95, it exceeds communication standards such as NFPA 72 and NEMA SB-40, making it ideal for schools, offices, and healthcare environments.

Superior Audio for Voice and Music

The 8188 supports Super-Wideband frequency response, producing rich, natural sound for both speech and background music. Pair it with the Algo 8301 IP Paging Adapter to stream multicast background music that automatically pauses during pages or alerts.

Scalable Multicast Paging

Easily expand your IP paging system with multicast. The 8188 can send or receive multicast streams, allowing an unlimited number of speakers across a campus or enterprise. Only one registered speaker is required to broadcast audio to all multicast receivers, saving SIP licenses and bandwidth.

Compatible multicast options include RTP multicast, Polycom Group Page, Singlewire InformaCast, and Syn-Apps Revolution.

Flexible Zone Paging

Up to 50 paging zones can be configured on a single speaker. Each zone can be mapped to a SIP extension or selected through DTMF keypresses, simplifying large-scale paging. Additional zones can be added using individually registered speakers for room-specific announcements.

Smart Volume Control and Talkback

The built-in microphone provides Ambient Noise Compensation, automatically adjusting volume based on background sound levels. This ensures clear announcements without being too loud. The same microphone also enables talkback communication during live paging calls.

Multi-Function SIP Endpoints

The 8188 offers multiple SIP registrations:

Page Extensions (50) for live voice paging
Emergency Alert Extensions (10) for safety notifications
Ring Extensions (10) for loud ringing applications

Each can trigger a custom WAV audio file from the built-in 1 GB memory.

Efficient Emergency Notifications

Activate alerts by dialing an emergency extension or pressing a connected button such as the Algo 1202 or 1203. Options include:

Playing or multicasting an emergency tone
Calling a target extension
Initiating a two-way call via the built-in microphone

The “Call-to-Cancel” function keeps alerts active until canceled, ideal for lockdown or evacuation events.

IP Loud Ringer and Night Bell

Configured as a ring extension, the 8188 acts as a loud ringer for telephones or ring groups. It plays a stored WAV tone during call events. Up to 10 ring extensions can be registered per speaker. For visual alerts, the 8188 can be paired with an Algo strobe light.

Simple Installation and Power

The PoE (IEEE 802.3af) powered design eliminates separate amplifiers and local power supplies. Mount easily using the included clamp system or optional T-Bar brackets. Accessories include:
