The Algo 8186 SIP Horn Speaker, delivers crystal-clear wideband audio using the G.722 HD voice codec. It ensures exceptional clarity for IP paging, voice announcements, and emergency notifications. With superior STI-PA scores, it meets strict standards like NFPA 72 and NEMA SB-40, essential for Emergency Communication in Education.

IP Loud Ringer for Industrial and Outdoor Use

The 8186 includes a Ring extension for loud ringing and night bell applications. When called, it plays a stored WAV ringtone from its 1GB memory. You can join it in a ring group with other telephones for synchronized alerts.

Up to 10 ring extensions can be registered, allowing one horn to act as a loud ringer for multiple telephones. The 8186 is about 20 times louder than a standard phone speaker. For audible and visual alerts, pair it with an Algo strobe light via multicast or relay.

Scalable IP Paging with Multicast

The 8186 supports multicast send and receive, enabling seamless coverage for any building, campus, or enterprise. One registered speaker can multicast to countless Algo devices including IP speakers, strobe lights, paging adapters, and multicast-supported phones.

Multicast ensures cost-effective scalability, reducing SIP registrations since only the sending device must be registered. The 8186 also supports RTP multicast, Polycom Group Page, Singlewire InformaCast (8186-IC), and Syn-Apps Revolution.

Zone Paging Made Simple

The speaker allows up to 50 multicast paging zones. Zones can be mapped to SIP extensions or selected via DTMF keypress from any phone. For even more flexibility, additional Algo IP speakers can be configured for specific room paging, loud ringing, or emergency alerts.

Dynamic Volume Control and Talkback

With Ambient Noise Compensation, the 8186 automatically adjusts its volume to match background noise. This ensures clear and comfortable sound levels in every environment. The built-in microphone also supports two-way Talkback, enabling real-time communication during paging.

Multi-Application SIP Extensions

The speaker supports multiple SIP registrations:

• Page Extensions (50) – for auto-answer PA announcements.

• Ring Extensions (10) – for custom ringtone playback.

• Emergency Alert Extensions (10) – for safety, security, and event notifications.

Each extension can play custom WAV files stored in the device memory, making the 8186 a flexible tool for voice paging, alerts, and notifications.

Reliable Emergency Notification Alerting

The 8186 offers two activation options for emergency events:

1. Dial an Emergency Alert extension.

2. Trigger via a connected button or relay input.

Up to 10 emergency alerts can be configured (e.g., lockdown, evacuation, all clear). Alerts play until canceled or for a pre-set duration. Custom WAV files can be stored in memory. You can also integrate Algo 1202 or 1203 buttons for contact-closure activation, with three response modes — play/multicast an alert, call and play WAV, or initiate a two-way call.

Common Deployments

When paired with the Algo 8301 SIP Paging Adapter & Scheduler, the 8186 enables multi-zone PA systems with scheduled bells and announcements, synchronized with IP clocks. The 8301 can bridge analog systems and multicast audio to Algo IP speakers, simplifying hybrid setups.

With this setup, users can manage scheduled bells, announcements, and synchronized IP clocks. Furthermore, the 8301 can simultaneously output audio to legacy analog paging systems and multicast to Algo IP endpoints.
