Clear and Powerful Audio

Thanks to wideband audio technology, the 8180 ensures every announcement is heard clearly. It achieves better STI-PA scores, meeting standards like NFPA 72 and NEMA SB-40 for emergency communications in schools and workplaces.

Loud Ringer for Telephony Alerts

The 8180 functions as an IP loud ringer for phones and ring groups. It can play stored WAV tone files whenever its ring extension is triggered. Up to 10 ring extensions can be configured, making it easy to support multiple phones or groups.
Custom tones can be uploaded, while the default library provides ready-to-use ring sounds.

For high-noise areas, pairing the 8180 with the Algo 1186 Horn Speaker boosts loudness up to 20× louder than a standard phone speaker. It can also integrate with Algo strobe lights for combined visual and audible alerts.

Scalable IP Paging with Multicast

The Algo 8180 SIP Audio Alerter supports multicast send and receive. This allows you to scale paging across large buildings or campuses using minimal network resources. One registered device can multicast to unlimited Algo endpoints, such as IP speakers, strobe lights, or paging adapters.

Multicast paging is ideal for schools, hospitals, and enterprises needing flexible zone paging. Up to 50 paging zones can be configured per unit, selectable via SIP extensions or DTMF key presses.

Dynamic Volume Control and Talkback

The built-in microphone continuously monitors background noise and adjusts volume automatically through Ambient Noise Compensation. This feature ensures pages remain audible without being too loud.
The 8180 also supports two-way talkback, enabling communication between users and paging zones.

Multi-Application SIP Extensions

Each Algo 8180 speaker offers multiple SIP registrations, including:

• 50 Page extensions

• 10 Emergency Alert extensions

• 10 Ring extensions

When called, the speaker auto-answers for paging or plays a stored WAV file for alerting. This flexibility makes it ideal for PA systems, safety notifications, and emergency alerts.

Reliable Emergency Notification

The Algo 8180 SIP Audio Alerter simplifies emergency notification. Alerts can be triggered by:

1. Dialling an Emergency Alert extension

2. Pressing a connected Algo 1202 or 1203 button

Up to 10 emergency alert types can be configured (e.g., lockdown, evacuation, all-clear). Alerts can play continuously until cancelled or for a preset duration.
The speaker also supports contact closure inputs for third-party buttons or devices, making it easy to integrate with existing safety systems.

Easy Integration with Algo 8301 SIP Paging Adapter

Combine the 8180 with the Algo 8301 SIP Paging Adapter & Scheduler for scheduled bells, tones, and announcements. This setup enables multi-zone PA systems synchronized with IP clocks and legacy analog systems.
Since the 8180 is self-amplified and powered by PoE, no separate amplifier or power supply is required.

InformaCast-Compatible IP Speaker

The Algo 8180-IC variant is fully compatible with Singlewire InformaCast, allowing seamless integration into enterprise-wide emergency and paging systems. It supports multicast for scalability and works with most VoIP phone systems, both hosted and on-premise.
