Loud Ringers & Strobes for Workshop Environments
Loud Ringers & Strobes provide solutions for effective audible alerting in noisy or noise-sensitive environments where a regular telephone ring or night bell may go unnoticed. IP Speakers can be complemented with the use of Visual Alerters, which are highly attention-grabbing strobe lights.
Loud Ringing in VoIP Environments
Typically, the built-in ringer in VoIP phones is sufficient for use in an office or retail setting. However, there are certain situations and environments where it may not provide enough volume to be heard by workers.
Loud ringing devices provide ample volume to ensure the ring of a telephone can be heard even when ambient noise levels are high. Whether the situation is critical, or a worker needs to be alerted of a visitor, loud ringing devices can be installed to ensure such messaging is not missed. Loud ringers are particularly valuable in environments where there is too much background noise, such as in a manufacturing facility or a warehouse where heavy equipment may be in use.
Deploying IP speakers for loud ringing is an easy way to reduce frustration in the workplace and ensure all critical communication is received.
Compatibility
All our Ringer & Strobe devices are 3rd-party SIP compliant and can seamlessly integrate into most leading UC systems. Where loud ringing is required, IP endpoints can function in both indoor and outdoor applications and are durable for long-life expectancy.

Speakers for Loud Ringing
The 8180 IP Audio Alerter is a popular speaker for loud ringing applications. It is typically eight times louder than a telephone speaker, offering a maximum SPL of 106 dBA (1 kHz at 1 m). This compact, yet attention-getting, speaker may be easily wall-mounted to direct audible notification to the intended audience.
When loud ringing is required in difficult environments, such as cold temperature, wet weather, or extreme ambient noise, the 8186 IP Horn Speaker is typically the solution of choice. This IP speaker is IP66 wet weather rated and delivers very loud audio output with a maximum SPL of 116 dBA (1 kHz at 1 m).
For the most challenging environments or when many speakers are required, the 8196 IP PoE+ Horn Speaker will typically be deployed. Deployed as a single IP speaker, the 8196 delivers a maximum SPL of 119 dBA (1 kHz at 1 m) when provided PoE+ power. When many speakers are required, the 8196 offers Algo’s innovative satellite speaker technology, allowing organizations to scale their speaker deployment easily and cost-effectively.
Visual Alerters to Complement Loud Ringing
Audible alerting can be paired with visual alerting for attention-grabbing applications to reach all audiences in almost any environment effectively. The combination of IP Speakers and IP Strobes can ensure that a telephone ring can be noticed even if hearing protection is heard, or ambient noise is extremely high.
Common Loud Ringing Environments
In warehouse or manufacturing facilities, important alerts may go unnoticed due to ambient noise such as the conversations of workers, operation of industrial fans, or use of a forklift. The 8180 or 8186 may be deployed to ensure alerts are heard. In a logistics or distribution environment, a phone ring would need to be noticed and heard even through the sound of a diesel engine from a truck at the door. The warble tone played on the 8180 is often used in this situation. In a retail environment, a small mechanic shop may have a worker who navigates between the front and back of the shop. The 8180 can be used to alert the worker that someone needs assistance. Any of these scenarios can be coupled with visual alerting infrastructure to deploy the most effective and attention-grabbing systems.
