    Description

Algo 8186 SIP Horn Speaker, is an outdoor-rated IP speaker, ideal for voice paging, emergency alerting, and loud ringing applications. Since it is a fully SIP-compliant 3rd-party endpoint, it seamlessly integrates with most hosted, cloud, and premise-based VoIP telephone systems.

    Wideband HD Audio

Importantly, the 8186 supports the Wideband G.722 HD voice codec, ensuring high intelligibility and crystal-clear audio for IP paging, voice announcements, and emergency notifications.

    Multi-Application SIP Extensions

Furthermore, the 8186 offers multiple SIP registrations, including:

    • Page Extensions (up to 50)

    • Emergency Alert Extensions (up to 10)

    • Ring Extensions (up to 10)

When called, the speaker will either auto-answer for live paging or play a pre-configured WAV file from its 1GB internal memory for ringing or emergency alerts, depending on the extension used.

Scalable IP Paging for Any Size Deployment

Thanks to its multicast send and receive capabilities, a single registered 8186 speaker can multicast to any number of Algo IP endpoints, including speakers, strobes, and paging adapters. Consequently, this minimizes SIP licensing and network traffic, making it ideal for covering large buildings, campuses, and enterprises.

    Additionally, supported multicast integrations include:

    • RTP Multicast

    • Polycom Group Page

    • Singlewire InformaCast (with model 8186-IC)

    • Syn-Apps Revolution

    • Zone Paging Made Easy

Moreover, the 8186 enables multicast zone paging across up to 50 configurable zones. Users can select zones by:

    • Mapping multicast zones to individual SIP extensions.

    • Using DTMF key presses from a phone to select zones dynamically, minimizing SIP registrations.

If needed, additional paging zones can be added by registering more Algo IP speakers or endpoints.

Ideal for Industrial and Educational Applications

In addition, the 8186 works seamlessly with the Algo 8301 SIP Paging Adapter & Scheduler to build a comprehensive public address (PA) system. With this setup, users can manage scheduled bells, announcements, and synchronized IP clocks. Furthermore, the 8301 can simultaneously output audio to legacy analog paging systems and multicast to Algo IP endpoints.

    Dynamic Volume Control & Talkback

The 8186 also features Ambient Noise Compensation using its built-in microphone. As a result, speaker volume automatically adjusts to ambient background noise levels, ensuring that messages are heard clearly but without being overly loud.

Moreover, talkback functionality is supported, allowing two-way communication during a page call.

    Powerful IP Loud Ringer

When configured as a Ring extension, the 8186 becomes an incredibly loud ringer—up to twenty times louder than a standard telephone speaker. Consequently, it is ideal for environments like factories, warehouses, and large public areas.

Additionally, up to 10 Ring extensions can be configured, supporting different telephones and ring groups.
For combined audible and visual alerts, the 8186 can be paired with an Algo strobe light using multicast or relay triggers.

    Simple and Effective Emergency Alerting

For emergency situations, the 8186 offers two easy activation options:

    • Dialing an Emergency Alert extension.

    • Pressing an external button connected to the device’s relay input.

Up to 10 Emergency Alert extensions can be registered, each linked to a different pre-configured WAV file for specific events such as lockdowns or evacuations.

Moreover, with the Call to Cancel feature, alerts can continue playing until actively canceled, or they can be set to play for a specific duration.

Thus, emergency notifications become simple, efficient, and easy to activate from any UC-enabled device.
